The Cisco Nexus 1000v Switch is now being made available as a 60 day evaluation, this gives you all a chance to try out what it means to have a fully integrated Cisco switch to manage your virtual infrastructure. The management of the switch is done using a management server and Command Line Interface.. the Cisco way. I wrote about this product a while back as i was talking about the birth of Virtual Appliances, and let me just quickly clarify, the Nexus 1000v integrates directly into the VMware ESX, it is not a virtual appliance as such.

I am still wondering when we will see this kind of integration with Hyper-V, Citrix XenServer etc. as i am sure this will help a lot of Virtualization engineers out there, passing the network administration to the network administrators.

So quite some time ago, Citrix launched a community driven initiative called Citrix Ready Community Verified. The initiative was meant to give everyone a better understanding into which servers, storage, security and applications run with Citrix products. The initiative has been used by a lot of users and votes have been given on the products to which people know will work with Citrix technologies.
Today the Citrix Ready Community verified site hit 10.000 verifications, 
this is quite a lot to me and quite a milestone. The Citrix Ready Community verified site could be the place where people go to get information on new products to purchase or implement, but it does require the community to stay focused and continue to vote.
I have spend quite a bit of time voting and adding new products to the lists, as i think this site can be extremely valuable both in my professional work and for customers using Citrix technologies. I just hope even more people will help vote for the products with which you have experience.

Microsoft har simplificeret deres tilgang til CAL’er i windows server 2008. Det tror jeg vi alle er glade for. Indtil nu har man stort set skulle købe/opgradere CAL’er når man skiftede den mindste Microsoft version. Det lader til at have ændret sig med Server 2008.
In Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2008 TS CALs and Windows Server 2008 R2 RDS CALs will be treated as equal in all respects. So, if a customer has a Windows Server 2008 TS CAL, it will allow the same functionality (connection, experience etc.) as a Windows Server 2008 R2 RDS CAL.
